Planting dwarf dahlias

Dahlias are originally Mexican summer flowers. They therefore like the warmth. It does not matter in which soil the dwarf dahlias are planted, as long as the soil is well-drained and, above all, not too dry. Plant the tubers of the dwarf dahlias about two centimetres below the surface of the soil, so that the tubers can feel the warmth of the sun.

Care of dwarf dahlias

The dwarf dahlia tubers need little care. Water the dahlias regularly. You do not have to worry about the dahlias falling over. Because of their shorter stems, they catch less wind and stay standing without support. Dwarf dahlias are tuberous perennials. So, you can enjoy them for several years in a row. However, there are no hardy dahlias. They can survive a warm winter, but it is better to take them out of the ground before the first frost. The next year you can plant them in the ground again.

More than just dwarf dahlias

In addition to dwarf dahlias, we naturally have many other varieties and sizes of dahlias in our range. The counterpart to the dwarf dahlia is of course our dinnerplate dahlias.
