Planting seeds for bees ad butterflies

First loosen the top layer of the soil a little. Get rid of clods and stones. Then make sallow furrows (also called ‘drills’) about 0,5 centimeters (or 0,2 inches) deep. Moisten the soil a little before sowing. Then drop the seeds in the drill by hand or just stick them in the soil on their side. Make sure you sow the seeds more uniformly, because otherwise the seeds will grow irregularly and sometimes in clumps.

After sowing, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil or sand, so the seeds can absorb the warmth of the sun. The best is to do that with soil that has the same thickness as your seeds. You can also label your flower seeds, so you know what seed it is.
