Don’t wait too long and plant your tulip bulbs between October and mid-December! Tulips come in countless colours and shapes – with us, you can choose from many different varieties. Perfect to brighten up your garden and give it a fresh start for spring!
A bit of tulip history
Contrary to what many people think, the tulip originally does not come from the Netherlands, but from Turkey. In 1562, the first tulip bulbs were imported via Antwerp – marking the beginning of European tulip cultivation. Thanks to the ideal climate, the Netherlands quickly grew into the center of tulip growing. The very first tulip bulb was planted by Carolus Clusius in the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden.
During the famous tulip mania (1634–1637), a real speculative frenzy occurred in the Netherlands. The demand for tulip bulbs was so great that prices soared to absurd heights – the equivalent of an Amsterdam canal house was paid for a single bulb! In 1637, this tulip bubble burst when the government intervened and regulated the trade. Some became incredibly wealthy during this time, but many lost their entire fortune.
Fortunately, nowadays tulips mainly symbolize spring and Dutch garden culture – without stock market madness, but with even more wonder!
Tulip Milkshake
Tulip Milkshake blooms in a stunning pink color – as tempting as a strawberry milkshake! The large flowers provide an intense color display and give your garden a real spring boost. An absolute must-have for anyone who loves vibrant colors and cheerful bloomers!
Tulip Triple A
A tulip as a tulip should be: large, sturdy, and radiant in color. Triple A is our most popular orange tulip and a real eye-catcher in the spring garden. Perfect for those who love strong colors and a powerful appearance!
Mixed tulip bulbs
Our tulip mixes are perfectly coordinated. The different flower heights create a playful and natural effect in your garden. Simply mix the bulbs in a bucket before planting, then scatter them over your border – planting them as nature intended.
We also offer mixes with different colors, for a cheerful and surprising spring!
