Summer Flower Bulbs
Want a summer full of colourful blooms in your garden? Here you'll find the most beautiful and vibrant summer-flowering bulbs for your garden or balcony.
From classic Italian ranunculus to striking gladioli – with a mix of summer bulbs, you’ll have a garden that truly shines.
Popular Summer Bulb Varieties
Summer-flowering bulbs are planted in spring and bloom throughout summer – often right up to September. The most popular of them all? Dahlias.
Dahlias come in an incredible range of shapes and colours, making them true showstoppers in any garden. These long-flowering summer bulbs bloom for months and are shipped directly from our own family farm. Another reason to love them: they’re excellent as cut flowers. And the more you cut, the more they bloom!
Our ranunculus are also a firm favourite. Grown in Italy – where we’ve seen the fields ourselves – these bulbs produce impressive flowers in soft, romantic pastel tones and last up to 10–14 days in a vase. A true touch of Italy in your garden.
Other equally beautiful summer-flowering bulbs include gladioli and anemones. These unique, eye-catching flowers definitely deserve a place in your summer garden.
Summer-Flowering Bulbs in Your Garden
Summer bulbs don’t just turn your garden into a colourful paradise – they’re also incredibly easy to plant. Plant them in spring, once the risk of night frost has passed. Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil. As a general rule: plant the bulbs twice as deep as the height of the bulb. Don’t forget to water them now and then, especially during dry spells.
And if you’re growing dahlias – make sure to pinch out the tips (also known as topping) to encourage even more beautiful blooms throughout the season.
Summer-Flowering Bulbs: A Haven for Bees and Butterflies
Summer-flowering bulbs don’t just brighten up your garden – they also attract bees and butterflies, turning your outdoor space into a vibrant, buzzing paradise. By combining different varieties of summer bulbs, you’ll create a continuous source of nectar and pollen – an essential food supply for these important pollinators. A beautiful garden that also supports biodiversity!
