Different shades of purple

In our assortment, you’ll find a range of purple dahlias: from reddish purple and pinkish purple to deep purple. Dahlia Marble Ball is a very special ball dahlia. Its flowers have a marbled pattern. But not every flower shows the same effect: some are striped while others are solid. Marble Ball keeps surprising you.

Combining purple dahlias

We’re often asked which colours go best with purple dahlias. Our favourite combination is purple dahlias with pink or red dahlias. This colour combo makes your garden feel cheerful and summery. Want to create a stronger contrast? Then pair your purple dahlia with white dahlias. The bright white petals really make the purple pop, creating a beautiful effect. A combination with yellow dahlias also creates a striking colour play, where the warm yellow contrasts beautifully with the deep purple. Combine different shapes of dahlias like dinnerplate dahlias, pompon dahlias and cactus dahlias for a more playful look.

Purple dahlias and other flowers

In addition to combining different types of dahlias, it’s also lovely to mix them with other flower seeds.

• Sunflowers (Helianthus): the bright yellow flowers create a striking and vibrant contrast with the deep purple shades of the dahlias.
• Cosmos: yellow or orange cosmos add a playful and cheerful touch next to the purple dahlias.
• Delphinium: with its light blue or soft purple tones, delphinium adds height and movement to your flower garden.
• Lathyrus:  this climbing, fragrant flower comes in shades of pink, white and purple, creating a romantic and harmonious mix.

• White zinnias: the fresh white hue makes the purple dahlias stand out even more.
