Seed trays: indispensable for the hobby gardener

Seed trays, also called seedling trays or plant trays, are ideal for growing healthy and strong seedlings. Whether you want to grow flowers or vegetables, a seed tray provides the perfect environment for seeds to germinate. Our durable seed trays are made from sturdy reusable plastic and designed for years of use.

What are seed trays?

Seed trays are clever tools to let seeds germinate and grow in a controlled way. Each seed tray is divided into small cells, allowing you to organize seeds efficiently and keep the seedling growth process clear. This prevents root entanglement and promotes healthy development. Seed trays are suitable for indoors, in the greenhouse, or in a bright spot and can be used for all kinds of seeds, such as flower seeds, vegetable seeds, and herbs.

Why use a seed tray?

With a seed tray, you gain benefits such as:

• Efficient use of space: Perfect for many seedlings in a small area.

• Better germination results: The controlled environment increases the number of germinating seeds.

• Easy transplanting: Thanks to drainage holes and a pressing plate, you can easily transfer seedlings to the garden.

• Sustainability: Our seed trays are made using solar energy, are reusable, and last for years.

Seed tray with accessories

At FAM Flower Farm, we offer complete seed trays with 77 or 144 cells, including a handy greenhouse lid and a water reservoir tray. The greenhouse lid retains heat and moisture, helping seeds germinate faster. Combine this with the matching pressing plate to easily remove seedlings from the tray or quickly make holes for new seeds.

How to use a seed tray?

1. Fill the cells with seed or cutting soil and moisten the soil.
2. Place 1-2 seeds per cell and lightly cover them with soil.
3. Water via the water drip tray or with a watering can with a fine rose.
4. Place the seed tray in a bright, warm spot and optionally use a greenhouse lid.
5. Once the seedlings are large enough, carefully remove them from the tray using the pressing plate.
