Tips
Narcissus – easy, reliable and a joyful surprise every spring
Narcissus bulbs are among the most rewarding to plant. Just plant them once and they’ll come back year after year – effortlessly. Discover them not only in classic yellow, but also in soft peach and apricot shades, crisp whites and striking orange centres. Some varieties even spread a sweet, lovely fragrance.
Whether your garden gets full sun or more shade – narcissus bulbs thrive in almost any spot. They bloom happily even under trees or along a shady garden edge.
Grow your own happiness – year after year!
Our tips for success:
- Plant in October or November – not too early, as the soil is often still too warm in September. You can also plant them in December, as long as there’s no frost.
- Plant in groups for best results – either mixed or grouped by variety
- Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot
- Always use fresh potting soil and ensure good drainage in pots
- Let the foliage die back after blooming – this feeds the bulb for next year
Extra benefits of narcissus:
- Great for borders, pots, lawns and even naturalising
- A perfect way to bring early spring colour to your garden
- Lovely to combine with other spring flowers like grape hyacinths or tulips
- Also beautiful in a vase – especially the fragrant varieties
