When are there flower bulb offers?

We have flower bulbs available for sale in two different periods. From 1 July to 1 December there are regular offers on tulip bulbs, narcissus bulbs and flower bulb packages. And from 1 January to 1 June there are regular offers on dahlia tubers. All tulip bulbs, narcissus bulbs and dahlia tubers are grown at our nursery in Lisse.

When to plant narcissus bulbs, tulip bulbs and dahlia tubers?

Tulip bulbs and narcissus bulbs

Tulip bulbs and narcissus bulbs love the cold; they even need it to bloom. That is why the bulbs are best planted in autumn in the months of October, November or December. But be careful, don’t plant the tulips/narcissus too late (after 15 December); the bulbs must be able to form roots before the severe frost sets in. Both the tulip bulbs and narcissus bulbs are of large size so you can expect beautiful full tulips and narcissus. Narcissus are early spring bloomers and tulips are late spring bloomers. We can’t wait! Even the newly awakened bees and butterflies will find your garden!

Dahlia tubers

Dahlias are wonderful summer bloomers originally from Mexico. They love warmth. The tubers grow in almost any soil type. The soil must simply have good drainage and especially not be too dry. Plant the tuber about 2 cm below the surface. In this way the tuber feels the warmth of the sun.

The ideal planting time is in spring after the risk of frost has passed. So from mid May up to no later than mid June.

When will the bulbs bloom?

Narcissus flowering time

In the months February to April the narcissus are in bloom. Tourists from around the world and locally travel to the world‑famous flower fields in Lisse. But why travel all the way to Lisse, when you can have narcissus blooming in your own garden?

Tulip flowering time

In the months April to May the tulips are in bloom. Tulip fields are the most popular flower fields in the Netherlands.

Dahlia flowering time

Dahlias bloom from July to August until the first night frost in October or November. Our favourite time of the year!
