Coreopsis Incredible Swirl
Coreopsis Incredible Swirl’s beautiful, burgundy-coloured eyes make it a real eye-catcher.
The common name for Coreopsis is ‘tickseed’ because of the way in which this flower’s seeds resemble ticks. In the Netherlands, Coreopsis is also nicknamed “girl’s eyes".
It is an easy annual summer bloomer that produces flowers on long stems. Thanks to its neutral colour, Coreopsis can be combined with almost anything. Plant plenty and you’ll be richly rewarded.

Tips
Coreopsis seeds are very small, which means you get a lot of them.
Do not sow too densely and thin out the seedlings once they emerge to prevent overcrowding. On soil that is too rich, the plants may become leggy.
How many seeds do you need per square meter?
Each packet contains enough seeds for approximately 1 square meter of flowers. This may vary depending on the variety, so take the mature plant size into account. A helpful tip: don’t sow everything at once. Stagger your sowings to extend the blooming season and have a backup in case the first round is less successful. A single seed can grow into a full plant, so give them enough room. Store your seeds in a cool, dry place – they’ll stay viable for 2 to 3 years.
How much sun do annual flowers need?
Annuals bloom best in full sun, with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. But the more sun – ideally more than 8 hours – the faster and more abundantly they’ll bloom. In shaded areas, flowering may be limited.
Planting instructions:
- Moisten the soil so the seeds adhere well.
- Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil – check the planting depth per variety on the back of the packet or on this page.
- Use fertile, well-drained soil.
- Place the seeds in a sunny location and protect them from strong winds. Support the plants if necessary.
- Water regularly and remove weeds.
