Narcissus bulbs grow into beautiful spring flowers. We completely understand if you want to bring that spring feeling indoors too.
But is it a good idea to combine narcissus with other flowers? Let us explain.
Avoid the harmful sap of narcissus
Narcissus stems release a sap that can harm other flowers. Does that mean you can't combine them? Not at all. You can definitely enjoy them together, but it’s important to place the narcissus in a separate vase first. After a few hours, the stems stop releasing sap and then you can safely add other flowers to the same vase.
If you cut the narcissus stems again, this will not release new sap. Make sure the vase is clean and consider adding a small drop of bleach to the water to prevent bacteria from spreading. This way, you can enjoy your narcissus fully, even in a mixed bouquet.
