“The most beautiful yellow tulips from a Dutch family nursery can be found at FAM Flower Farm”

Need a little optimism and energy? Then yellow tulips are just what you need. Yellow symbolizes sunshine, cheerfulness, and joy. Yellow tulips are true spring flowers and very popular, not just at Easter.

Yellow tulip varieties

There are several types of yellow tulips. From yellow-green tulips to red-yellow tulips: we have them all in our collection.

The pale yellow tulip Yukon is exclusively available at FAM Flower Farm. This tulip has a double flower and starts with green edges. What makes this tulip special is that its color changes throughout the blooming period. A truly spectacular flower.

The Greenmile tulip, with its green-yellow color, is a unique appearance. This tulip stands beautifully on its own but also combines well with your favorite flowers. It also blooms for a very long time, so you can enjoy it even longer.

Tulip Denmark is technically a red-yellow tulip, but we felt it definitely belonged on this list. This tall tulip is great for planting in the garden, but also looks lovely in a vase.

When are yellow tulips available?

The yellow tulip is available starting from July and can be ordered until early December. Did you know that all our yellow tulips are grown at our own nursery in Lisse? You’re even welcome to visit us sometime.

When should I plant yellow tulips?

Tulips love the cold, so plant them in October, November, or December. Be sure not to plant them too late, because after December 15 the bulbs might not form roots properly. The blooming time of tulips can vary each year, but they usually flower in April and May.

How do I plant yellow tulips?

Before planting, it’s important to loosen the soil where you want the tulip to grow. Dig a hole about 15 cm deep and place the tulip bulb in it with the point facing up. Plant the next bulb 15 cm apart. Then cover the hole and press the soil down firmly. Water the yellow tulips immediately to help them root faster. This also protects them better against rain or cold. After blooming, we recommend removing the tulips from the ground. Tulips are not perennial.

Can yellow tulips grow in pots?

If you don’t have a garden, you can plant tulips in pots too. It’s important to choose the right type of tulip. The easiest tulips to grow in pots are short-stemmed varieties, but you can also plant yellow tulips in pots. If you do, we recommend using a large, deep pot. The pot should be three times the height of the bulb.

Other tulips

In addition to yellow tulips, red tulips are also very popular. Orange tulips  are especially festive for displaying in vases during King’s Day. You’ll also find pink tulips and even black tulips in our range. The double tulips might just be some of the most extraordinary tulips out there.
